Annela

Terms of use

Last updated 12 September 2026

These are the rules for using Annela. They are short because the app is small: you log what you do, and you can choose to share some of it with people you connect to.

Your account

You need to be 13 or older, and old enough to agree to this where you live. One account is one person — Annela is a record of what you did, and a shared account makes every streak, standing and challenge in it meaningless.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has got into it, change your password and tell us.

What you write stays yours

Your photos, posts, comments and logs belong to you. You give us permission to store them and to show them to the people you have chosen to share them with — that is all, and only for as long as you keep them here.

We do not sell them, train anything on them, or show them to anyone you have not shared them with. Deleting your account deletes them; see the privacy policy.

What is not allowed

Nothing that would make this a worse place to be honest about a hard day:

  • Harassing, threatening or bullying anyone.
  • Hate speech, or content attacking people for who they are.
  • Sexual content, and nudity beyond what a progress photo plainly is.
  • Content involving minors in any way that is not plainly innocent.
  • Spam, scams, or advertising.
  • Impersonating someone else.
  • Anything illegal, and anything encouraging self-harm — including promoting disordered eating or extreme restriction. This is a fitness app; that boundary matters here more than most places.
  • Cheating a public leaderboard, or gaming the device-verified entries.

Reporting, blocking, and what we do

Every post, comment and progress photo has a Report action, and every person has a Block. Blocking is immediate and symmetric: neither of you sees the other's posts, comments, reactions or photos, and neither of you is told.

Reports reach a person. We aim to look at every report within 24 hours and we remove content that breaks the rules above. We may remove content, suspend an account, or close one permanently — and for the worst categories we do that without warning, because a warning is a window in which it keeps happening.

If you think we got it wrong, reply and say so. A decision made by one person can be looked at by another.

This is not medical advice

Annela records what you tell it and what your device reports. It does not know anything about your health, and nothing in it is advice. Targets in a challenge are numbers somebody typed, not a recommendation.

Talk to a doctor before starting something new, especially if you are pregnant, recovering from an injury or illness, or managing a condition. If something hurts, stop.

Ending it

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. It is immediate and it is permanent — there is no waiting period and nothing to email anyone about.

We can close an account that breaks these rules. If we do, you can ask for your data first unless the reason makes that unsafe for someone else.

What we promise, and what we do not

We try to keep Annela working and your data safe, but it is provided as it is. We do not promise it will never lose data, never go down, or suit any particular purpose.

Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose. There is an export in Settings.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change applies. The date at the top is the last time they changed.
